God's Word for the coming week...

Let us come before the LORD and worship him in the splendor of his holiness.  May we be ever mindful of our God who is majestic, yet full of love and grace.  Spend some time reflecting on Psalm 96-100.

The Splendor Of The King!

“Say among the nations, “The LORD is king!” (Psalm 96:10, NIV )

The Psalms continually provide language for us to lift up the LORD as king!  Psalm 96-100 describe the splendor the LORD our king! Take a few minutes to read these Psalms and then reflect on the ways in which the LORD is described as our Mighty King!

  • The LORD made the heavens (96:5)
  • Honor and majesty are before him (96:6)
  • Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary (96:6)
  • The LORD is in holy splendor! (96:9)
  • The world is firmly established and shall never be moved (96:10)
  • The LORD is coming to judge the earth (96:12)
  • Righteousness and justice are the foundation of the LORD's throne (97:2)
  • Fire goes before him (97:3)
  • The mountains melt like wax before the LORD (97:5)
  • The heavens proclaim the righteousness of the LORD (97:6)
  • The LORD is most high over all the earth and the LORD is exalted far above all gods (97:9)
  • The LORD loves justice (98:4)
  • The LORD is forgiving and an avenger of wrong doing (98:8)

Therefore let us enter his gates with thanksgiving in our hearts and enter his courts with praise!

The LORD is good and his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations! (100:5)
