The elders with our wives have been meeting on a regular basis on weekends for the purpose of praying and thinking through what Monmouth needs to focus on in the near future. Colossians Chapter 3, verses 12 through 15 says
" Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
Each one of us is challenged to grow into the image of Christ, who is our Head. We have identified three areas we want to work on during this year.
- Encouraging each other in our identity in Christ - who we are in Christ forms our basis for what we do
- Resolving Conflict - Identifying what causes conflict, naming it and addressing it, both personally and as a church.
- Participating in the gifts God has given this family - Are we serving in areas that we've been gifted in?
Today we will begin with a study of encouraging one another in our identity in Christ and what it means to be transformed by our faith.
